Shawdesh Desk: Celebrated writer and poet Syed Shamsul Haque was remembered at his third death anniversary on Friday.

Locals, cultural activists and various organisations brought out a procession and placed wreaths at the grave of the writer in the morning while the Zila Shilpakala Academy organised a discussion programme.

Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Sultana Parvin presided over the discussion. Additional DC Hafizur Rahman, Assistant Principal of Kurigram Govt College Mirza Nasir Uddin, Kurigram Press Club President Ahsan Habib Nilu and Shilpakala Academy General Secretary Principal Rasheduzzaman Babu, among others, were present.

Anwara Syed Haque, wife of Syed Shamsul Haque, was also present at the programme.

Shamsul Haque was born on December 27, 1935 in Kurigram. He passed away on September 27, 2016.
